Corbin to Host Policy Committee Hearing on Drug Addiction and Opioid Abuse
WHAT: Rep. Becky Corbin (R-East Brandywine), together with Chairman of the House Majority Policy Committee Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin), have invited state legislators from across Pennsylvania to Chester County to gather testimony from local experts on drug addiction and the state’s opioid epidemic.
Testifiers, which will include law enforcement, the first-responder community, local advocates and treatment professionals, will discuss successful efforts that have made positive impacts in the southeast and offer suggestions on legislative actions they believe should be taken in order to better tackle the epidemic both regionally and statewide.
WHO: Benninghoff, Corbin and state legislators from across the region. Testifiers will include: Michael Noone, Chester County first assistant district attorney; Ethan Healey, project naloxone manager, Good Fellowship EMS; Jack Laufer, chief, Coatesville Police Department; Jacki Smiro, Chester County NOPE (Narcotics Overdose Prevention and Education) task force; Brandt Norton, Behavioral Wellness & Recovery Treatment; and Winden Rowe, therapist and owner of Winden Rowe, MS, LLC.
