Benninghoff to Host Policy Hearing on Drug Addiction and Opioid Abuse in Mifflin County
WHAT: Local representative and chairman of the House Majority Policy Committee Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin), together with co-hosts Reps. Adam Harris (R-Franklin/Juniata/Mifflin) and Rich Irvin (R-Huntingdon/Centre/Mifflin), have invited legislators from across the region to hear testimony from local experts about the state’s drug epidemic and how it is impacting Mifflin County and other parts of rural Pennsylvania.
Testifiers, which will include law enforcement representatives, academia, treatment professionals and community advocates, will expand upon their experiences and expertise, and offer suggestions on legislative actions they believe should be taken to better tackle the epidemic.

Testifiers will include: Chris Torquato, Mifflin County district attorney; Dan Lynch, Mifflin County coroner; Dr. Kirk Gilbert, Penn State University; Mike Hannon, Tri County Drug and Alcohol; Jill Pecht, Clear Concepts Counseling; and Sally Brown, local resident.
